When I moved to Jupiter 21 years ago, it was still a very small town in more ways than one. But slowly the secret got out and people moved into the newly built homes in the country clubs. Right down the street from where I live, grazing cattle were replaced by the Jupiter County Club, a Toll Brothers community. We used to have citrus trees in nearly every backyard, but the State cut 66,000 of them down. But Jupiter Farms is the undiscovered jewel left in the northern Palm Beach area. Even though I live on the western side of the Farms, I am only 15 minutes from our fabulous beaches.
One of the big attractions to life in the Farms is the fact that there is a strong community spirit fostered by the Jupiter Farms Residents association. This group is dedicated to preserving the great lifestyle we enjoy out here.
Each holiday season, they host a craft sale, Christmas tree sale and Farms parade. This year the fun begins Sunday Dec. 4 at 9:30 at our new community center. The Christmas tree sale is going on Saturday and Sunday and all proceeds go to the JFR Scholarship fund. The craft sale is Sunday AM and the parade begins at 1:30 and travels along Sandy Run Road, one of our major paved roads.
In the parade, you will see many Farms theme floats made locally in folks back yards. And there is plenty of hay, horses and wagons and the like. For your chance to get a feel of what the Jupiter Farms lifestyle is all about, be sure to come out on Sunday.
